Walking Groups

Men’s Walking Groups:  Club members have two walking groups available to them as follows.

  • “Whatcom Hikers”: This group does a variety of fitness levels from easy walks to challenging hikes.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 AM. This group does a variety of fitness levels from easy walks to challenging hikes. Visit www.whatcomhikers.org for more information.
  • “Ten Flat”: This group walks for about 1 hour at a moderate pace on mostly level trails and byways, concluding with time at a coffee shop. 

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 AM. Coordinator: Bill Fly.

Note: Men's Walking Groups are not Newcomers & Neighbors' activities, but many club members participate.

    

Women’s Walking Group:  Walks a variety of scenic routes in the Bellingham area and meets for coffee, snacks and conversation when done.  Walks are scheduled weekly during the winter months and twice weekly during the summer.  Come join the fun!

The group meets, weather permitting, at a variety of sites for a one hour walk every Tuesday and Saturday at 10 AM, followed by coffee and conversation. There are slow walkers and fast walkers in the group. No one walks alone and all are welcome.

Note: The Women's Walking Group is a Newcomers & Neighbors' sponsored activity. A non-member can participate initially but must join as a member for continued participation in the Women's Walking Group.
